This novel is an action packed adventure from start to finish, following the main character, Lyra, and her mysterious Uncle, Lord Asriel. Lyra’s journey takes her to the far north, where something inexplicable is happening, a city can be seen through the bright green northern lights, a city not in Lyra’s world. This book is mysterious and action filled, with exciting twists, constantly keeping you engaged. His Dark Materials is now a collection of four books, following Lyra to different worlds, unravelling a great conspiracy to overthrow the greatest power of them all. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of ten, as it is not too hard to read, and is constantly engaging, making for an enjoyable read.
