The Fix: Book Review

David Baldacci: The Fix

The Fix by David Baldacci is a crime/mystery book that reveals key pieces of information as you progress further through the novel. It is an intriguing book that is full of twists and turns, always keeping you interested. It is a young adults/adult fiction book about the FBI and a murder case that happened in seemingly cold blood, but that’s not the way Amos Decker sees it (the main character). The book is focused on Amos Decker and his team of detectives trying to solve the almost impossible case, why did Walter Dabney shoot Anne Berkshire? As you read the book reveals that not all the characters are as they first seemed, taking us back to the Cold War and the height of espionage.

I found this book extremely engaging as it revealed pieces of information along the way, making you want to read on and piece all the discoveries together to find the main plot. I also enjoyed how the writer keeps the reader guessing throughout the novel, as you read more and delve deeper into the novel the writer withholds the key information that the main characters need to solve the case, making you feel as though you are part of the story and are there in the moment helping to solve the case. I would recommend this book to anyone above the age of 14 who enjoys crime and mystery books, it is a long book, but the writer constantly throws in twists to keep it interesting, and the end result is very rewarding.
