lewisham primary book Awards 2020
Welcome to the Lewisham Primary Book Awards
We would like to invite you to take part in the Lewisham Primary book awards. Running for a second year, these awards are designed to encourage conversations about great books in classrooms and schools across the borough.
The Lewisham Primary Book Awards community
We are a primary school librarian (Ruth Horsman), a book shop (Moon Lane represented by manager Meera Ghanshamdas) and a teaching professional and co-creator of www.lovemybooks.co.uk (Sue McGonigle) who have joined forces to bring you a selection of the newest and best fiction for the under 12s.
We have put together the attached shortlist using the following criteria:
-
The books need to be engaging and relevant to the age range (Reception-Upper KS2).
-
The books are new – the version we have selected has been published in the last 12 months.
-
There is a mix of positive representation across the shortlist – we want children in Lewisham schools to see themselves reflected in the books as much as possible.
