Harriet Tubman: A Journey to Freedom - Sandra A. Agard

Learn about the trailblazing Harriet Tubman with author Sandra A. Agard!

 

Born into slavery on a Maryland plantation, Harriet's life was full of hardship. In 1849, she made the brave decision to run away, journeying north on the Underground Railroad. Despite the dangers, she returned to the South again and again, leading many others to safety.

 

With interactive storytelling, singing, and a creative writing exercise this event is guaranteed to be fun as well as educational. Sandra will also be finishing with a Q&A for any children or parents who have any questions.

Pug Hug - Zehra Hicks

Join author and illustrator Zehra Hicks as she shares her brand new adorable picture book, Pug Hug!

 

Pug is desperate for a hug. But however hard he tries to hug the other animals, he can't get a hug from anyone! Cat doesn't like hugs, Rabbit is too busy munching carrots and hamster is just too quick! Maybe Croc will give Pug a hug…. or does he have other ideas?!

Daughters of Nri - Reni K Amayo

Reni will be joining us in store to discuss and sign her debut book Daughters of Nri, a fantasy novel set in ancient Nigeria and centred on twin goddesses. Reni will be sharing some cool mythology facts as well as discussing the epic journey to the wonderful Daughters of Nri.

Rhinocorn Rules! - Matt Carr

Ron is a rhino like no other. He doesn't like to live by the other rhino rules - the other rhinos are grumpy, solitary and they will charge at anything that gets in their way. But not Ron. When Ron paints himself into a bright unicorn, all of the other animals think he's the coolest animal ever, but his rhino family are less impressed. Come and join author Matt Carr as he reads from his newest picture book, Rhinocorn Rules! Find out some amazing rhino facts and learn to how to draw Ron the Rhinocorn. Then get creative and make your very own rhino horn hat to take home!
